Given the focus of the photo, I could possibly give some bullshit made-up story where the subject is looking at some girl, and then some sap story follows. Alas, no.

To be honest, this was just a random shot as I was testing the exposure, but I guess one of the beauties of photography is that it’s open to interpretation.

Anyways, this photo was taken at Matt’s older sister’s Wedding/Bridal Shower. Matt, Bryan, and I took a couple pictures and videos, and as we watched people play the games, we would keep bringing up the idea “This is gonna be us in ten years”. It was intriguing. It was exciting. It was crazy, rather - the concept of where we’ll be in the future, or the idea that even after all these years, we’ve been kicking it since high school.

Congratulations to Ate Kay (I hope she doesn’t mind me saying that) and Virgil! Can’t wait for the wedding in February! *cough*timetosuitup*cough*

B&W-5

So today’s Black&White has my little MR2 in the picture (and another in the back). I’m almost 100% sure that I’ve written about it before, but you get the opportunity to read it again! Hooray! I got this car as a birthday/Christmas/graduation gift my Senior year of high school mainly because our MX83 Cressida seemed near death, but I drive it still to this day. Anyways, like an idiot high schooler, I spent time at Turnbull Canyon and GMR, but the latter was a bit worse. Yup, I crashed up there. Took a turn too fast and began sliding sideways and crashed into a dirt pile that pretty much saved my life and Jeff’s. Could’ve gone over the cliff I tell ya. Needless to say, I learned my lesson. Damage was only sufficed to the bottom of the front bumper luckily, so the MR2 looked like it hadn’t been in one. But it doesn’t stop there. About a year ago in December while I was still working at Disneyland, I was on my way home from work, and the weather went to hell. Rain and lightning - the extreme combination scared the shit out of me. Being a stupid idiot, I was going 80mph+ on a straight section of the 57N, and all of a sudden, *thump* I begin to do a 180 as the rear, right panel crashes into the center divider. The bumper was torn up, tail light busted, wheel bent although the tire didn’t blow, and the suspension shot.

Poor thing was left in our garage until late April or early May. Body damage was repaired, and the whole thing was given fresh paint. Later on, I bought those BBS you see thanks to a member on the MR2 forums.

One of the reasons I love it so is that it represents my hard work. I earned every penny to get it where it is now especially from the problems I’ve caused it. I’m not trying to make it look all fancy and shit since I like the balance between form and function, but I feel it needs just one more thing to complement it if you catch my drift. *elbownudgewithstupidgrin*

B&W-2

Today, I went to Disneyland - just another regular visit, but this time, I managed to go with my high school brosephs Bryan, Matt, and Jeff. It’s been a long time since I’ve had the chance to hang out with any of the high school homies especially while trying to raise up my grades and handling E-Board business. I even made sure that I  completed my work before going out. *pats self on the back* I can already tell this week is going to be busy just as the others, but I’ll pull through like I usually do.

Anyways today’s B&W is of the Teacup ride at Disneyland. Why am I taking the picture? Simple - I don’t like the Teacups. I hate when I get too dizzy, I hate when people spin it too much (although I like messing with people that way too), and I hate making people have to slow it down because of me. So naturally, I let the guys have this one. Sure, I could go on and not spin as fast, but that’s no fun either. Maybe I’ll get over it one day because at my age, there is no excuse for letting my physical endurance get the better of me. But until then, the Teacups will just have to wait.

So I’m going to begin doing a Black & White series - nothing intricate, nothing overdone, just recollections of the day. I’ll attempt to do at least one photo a day along with a somewhat detailed description of it. Note that I said attempt because I realize that I’ve gone through these things before so I already know I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to do it every day.

B&W-1:

This photo was taken at The View, the one place where the homies and I knew we could just chill for minutes, hours talking about life - past, present, or future. It’s a getaway that’s barely ten minutes from home between two houses in a pretty upscale neighborhood so you never really had to worry about safety and such. The view at night is spectacular: the local Edwards theater glows to the right, those four large antenna towers blink red towards the left, the L.A. skyline dimly shines 20-30 miles straight ahead, and the headlights of cars moving everywhere else in between. There are probably better views out there, but this one was simply special.

And now? It’s fenced off and under construction. I understand it had to happen sometime. I’d always joke about buying that damn patch of land and building a house there, but of course, someone beat me to it. It’s pretty sad really, but I still got my memories - that’s just how life is.
